* HURRICANE BERYL developed in the Atlantic early this week and was initially classed as a Category 5 Hurricane, having windspeeds of more than 160 miles per hour, with the capability of causing severe damage to buildings and infrastructure, and bringing heavy rain, flash flooding and storm surges when it makes landfall. It has since been downgraded to a Category 4 Hurricane remaining capable of being highly destructive.

* The Hurricane made landfall in the south eastern Caribbean region earlier this week bringing destruction to property and fatalities in Grenada, St Vincent and the Grenadines and to the northern coast of Venezuela.

* The Hurricane is forecast to make landfall in Jamaica on 03 July 2024 and may then progress to make landfall across the Yucatan Peninsula; and across the Gulf of Mexico threatening the eastern coast of Mexico and possibly the Gulf coast of Texas.
