* We have received reports that general cargo ship, MORAZ broke free from its berth in adverse weather conditions during cargo operations at Iskenderun on 11 March 2022.

* The vessel later ran aground.

* It is reported that the vessel sustained serious structural damage and water ingress as a result of the grounding.

* Continuing adverse weather conditions have prohibited any attempts to refloat the vessel to date.

* It is possible that General Average / Salvage and associated recovery issues may arise as a result of this casualty.
