Description
We have received reports that the bulk carrier SIDER ATHENA (IMO 9657844) ran aground near Weser buoy 63 on the Weser River, Germany, on 11 March 2026.
It is reported that the vessel sustained minor damage as a result of the grounding, and a navigational marker was also damaged. The vessel was subsequently towed to the Stromkaje quay in Bremerhaven for inspection and possible repairs.
It is possible that General Average/Salvage and associated Recovery issues may arise as a result of this casualty.
