Description
* We have received reports that general cargo ship, SEALLOYD ARC (IMO: 8682036) experienced an ingress of water off the southern coast of the Phuket, Thailand on 7 February 2026 and subsequently sank.
* It is reported that some containers sank with the vessel, while others remain afloat, and it is anticipated that those containers may drift ashore in the surrounding region.
* It is likely that recovery issues will arise as a result of this casualty so we have retained investigators to ascertain the cause of this casualty and we have cargo surveyors on hand to assess the extent of damage to cargo stowed to any containers that may be salvaged.
* We have already been instructed by cargo insurers and we may, therefore, be able to offer certain economies of scale in respect of any investigative costs that may be incurred.
* We therefore recommend that you contact us urgently if you are concerned with any cargo on board this vessel so that we can immediately start taking steps to protect your interests.
